Getting Here

Letchworth Garden City boasts excellent transport links, and its popularity has much to do with its ease of access by road, rail and air.

Close to major motorway routes, served by fast service trains and near to London airports, it is no surprise that the world’s first Garden City attracts many visitors from the UK and abroad year after year.

By Road

Letchworth Garden City is situated in North Hertfordshire, 38 miles from the heart of London.

Located just 22 minutes drive away from Junction 23 of the M25 and a few minutes from Junction 9 and 10 of the A1(M).

We’re also just a 20-minute drive from Luton and Junction 10 of the M1, via the A505.

For international visitors, we’re only 40 minutes away from Luton Airport, while it takes under an hour from Stansted Airport. 

By Bus

You’ll find regular bus services to the Garden City’s rural and residential areas as well as local towns, such a Hitchin and Baldock.

Bus Stops

By Rail

Fast services from London Kings Cross take from just 25 minutes to reach Letchworth Garden City Railway Station. Services run up to every 10 to 15 minutes during peak times.

Letchworth Garden City Railway Station is part of the Thameslink network, with services to the North via Peterborough, and East Anglia via Cambridge are within easy reach of the Garden City. Trains run directly to Letchworth from Cambridge at least two times an hour.

Parking
