With a wealth of activities taking place this weekend for the 10thLetchworth Festival, it’s worth taking a visit to The Cloisters a masonic centre and one of the Garden City’s most intriguing festival venues. An extraordinary building, designed according to the Arts and Crafts Movement, The Cloisters has been designated as one of the “great historic buildings of North Hertfordshire”.
For one day only, Saturday 15th June, Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation and The Cloisters will host an artist take-over pop-up exhibition; ‘Suffragette Stories: Yesterday and Tomorrow’, celebrating the important role the North Hertfordshire area has played in the struggle to achieve votes for women.
Artists in all mediums have been invited to interpret the theme of Suffragettes and the relevance of their fight in society today.
With free entry and free parking on site, all are welcome between 11am to 3pm to enjoy an eclectic mix of heritage, musical vibes from local band: Istanbul Hippodrome, along with refreshments; a bar and an on-site BBQ.
