The Greenway is a 13.6 mile route around Letchworth suitable for walkers, runners, cyclists and more to enjoy. The route also covers a number of local wildlife and nature spots for people to enjoy while on the route.
For a printable map, please click here. Alternatively, you can pick up a copy from Love Letchworth’s office.
With the Greenway being busier than usual, remember to follow the Greenway Code so everyone can enjoy it. Whether you are a cyclist, dog owner or jogger, please think of others.
January 2021 — Changes to the Greenway route
We have rerouted The Greenway through the stable yard near Nortonbury House for the safety of cyclists and for better access for Nortonbury Farmhouse. This track, originally used as part of the Greenway route, is a private track, it has no rights of way over it. See the map below for the updated rounte.
We will be updating the signage in the weeks to come.
The actual/official permissive access over Heritage Foundation land provided by Natural England goes behind (to the south) of the newer of the stable blocks.
Please do carry on enjoying our beautiful Greenway and don’t forget to tag us in your pictures on social media!
Maintenance schedule
The Environment and Landscape Team at the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation work hard to keep the Garden City Greenway in a good condition. They undertake regular works and repairs which, occasionally, might mean sections of the Greenway are out of bounds.
If you spot anything that requires attention around the Greenway, please do let us know by emailing response@letchworth.com
