Shortly after the birth of the Garden City, Letchworth was home to two experimental housing exhibitions in 1905 and 1907.

These exhibitions played a key part in shaping today’s Garden City. With many properties remaining, modern Letchworth benefits greatly from these character homes. Now privately owned, many proudly display a commemorative plaque confirming their entry in the exhibitions. 

The Letchworth Garden City Exhibition Cottages Group provides support and advice to owners of these historic buildings on how to care for and maintain them.
